Jobs In Healthcare & Private Tutoring Are More Recession-Proof Jobs February 21, 2009

No doubt jobs in some industries are more recession-proof and safer havens than others. Industries such as healthcare, the federal government, clean technology, information technology, and sales and marketing are said to be more recession-proof.
Think of goods and services that people still need despite the looming recession. Yes, jobs in healthcare and pharmaceuticals as examples.
People are getting older, people are getting frailer, and demographics of the population are aging. Bio sciences, physical therapy, occupational therapy, massage therapy, foot reflexology or alternative therapy – those are jobs that are as recession-proof as they come.
Hubby is a foot reflexologist while I am a private tutor. So, foot massage and private tutoring are recession-proof jobs, aren’t they?
Hubby’s foot biz is still at its infant stage, so it takes a bit time to build up client base. So far, he has got 4 regular customers. 2 comes twice a week while the other 2 comes once a week.
His initial goal is to have 3 foot massage appointments every day for 5 days. This means 15 treatment appointments per week, about RM500 ($145) per week.
He hasn’t started any marketing or advertising like distributing leaflets in the neighborhoods yet.
As for me, my private tutoring biz is booming. It’s up to me if I still want to accept new private tutoring offers.
Of course, we still have our online niche blogs and stores that generate money from Google AdSense, Chitika, Infolinks, Amazon, Clickbank, ShareASale, MarketHealth every day.
More Private Tutoring Offers & Foot Reflexology Massage Appointments Mean More Cash In Hand February 4, 2009

I love the thought of having more private tutoring offers and foot reflexology massage appointments. This means more cash in hand during times of economy crisis and recession.
My one hour private tuition rate is RM38 ($11), so I am more than happy to accept a few more offers for private tutoring.
As for hubby, he is getting more foot reflexology treatment appointments. I have confidence that his business will bloom once his client base increases.
Do you know that being a foot reflexologist or massage therapist is also a good way to earn cash? Each time you finish the 45-minute foot therapy treatment or 90-minute body massage appointment, you are paid cash.
It depends on how much money you want to earn every day. If making RM100 a day is your daily goal, you just need to have 3 appointments.
Like hubby who can only do 2 to 3 45-minute foot reflexology appointments for the time being, he makes between RM66 to RM100 a day ($18 to $30).
Remember? He is a local councilor, so it’s not possible for him to be a full time foot reflexologist.
Have you thought of being a part time foot reflexologist or massage therapist? Once you are more experienced, you can turn full time.
You see, no matter how bad economy and recession is, people still get sick. There are always people looking for natural cures, remedies or therapies besides medical treatments. So, give massage therapy or healthcare jobs a try.
Oh, I can’t help visualizing more private tutoring offers and foot reflexology massage appointments.
Private Tutoring Is The Best Part Time Job February 2, 2009

I am sure you hear and read news about layoffs, job cuts, job losses and job searches as much as I do these days. Have you thought of finding a part-time job like private tutoring?
Yes, a part time hour job that serves as a backup income in case you are unfortunately put layoff by your employer.
It’s going to take some time before you can get a new job, therefore a part time job can at least help you pay some of your bills, home loan installments, auto repayments, gas and electricity bills, or meal and grocery expenses.
Private tutoring is the best part time job if you love giving help and guidance to kids academically.
Do you know that private tutoring or home tuition jobs are considered recession-proof jobs? No matter how bad economy is, tuition classes in my country are not affected the slightest.
I have been back to tutoring since last December. Before I went back to giving tuition, I did do a job search online. Among sales jobs, finance jobs, banking jobs, tutoring jobs, insurance jobs, child care jobs, healthcare jobs and administration jobs that I came across, tutoring jobs are perhaps the best choice in terms of flexible hours and higher tuition fees.
I have been self-employed for so many years that it’s unlikely for me to work under others. Being a private tutor means that I am my own boss.
My tuition classes are held in my house and at my own convenience, therefore save me time, money and hassle of driving to office.
I haven’t really checked out online tutoring job opportunities. I will not hesitate much if e tutoring classes pay the same or better than my home tutoring classes.
With dire economy and looming recession, it’s really wise to have multiple sources of income. Hubby and I have 4 jobs now.
I know my affiliate niche blogs and stores will bloom and generate increasing passive income of $1,500, $2,000 or $3,000. Just that it’s going to take a bit of time.
But how long will it take to see $1,500, $2,000 or even $3,000 a month? Well, I have no idea.
So, as a financial security measure, it’s better for me to have another source of income. Private tutoring is now one-third of my online income of $1,000.
